Event Planning
Welcome to Stimson-Green Mansion. We’re delighted to serve as the
venue for your event and to help with your planning. The following
paragraphs will provide you with the information you’ll need to make
your catering booking arrangements. Please contact us with any questions
you may have. We’re eager to be of assistance.
Menus
A well-designed menu is the starting point for every great occasion.
Our Executive Chef has carefully created distinctive menus,
incorporating each season’s finest and freshest ingredients. You can
rely on our Sales staff to guide you effortlessly through the creative
process of selecting your menu and providing you with suggestions and
solutions to your culinary concerns.
Our reception menus are priced by the item. We also offer pre-set
menus for your convenience. If you prefer, our Chef will be happy to
create a menu designed especially for you. The food choices are subject
to a 20% service fee and the applicable Washington State sales tax.
Please refer to the Rates section of this site for more detailed
information regarding our catering minimums. Prices are subject to
change without notice, but may be confirmed up to three months prior to
your event. We require that all food, with the exception of a wedding
cake, be purchased through The Stimson-Green Mansion.
Menu Selection
When planning a sit-down meal, please remember that one salad and
starter, your choice of one or two entrées, and one dessert may be
chosen for your function. Vegetarian offerings are always available
regardless of group size. We require place cards designating guest
choice when selecting more than one entrée. Place cards are the
responsibility of the host.
Guarantees
Please note, final guest confirmation as well as your entrée split
count (if any) must be called in ten (10) days prior to your event. All
calls should be made to our Sales Managers. Once received, the number is
considered a final guarantee and is not subject to reduction.
Beverages
Each host may purchase his or her own alcoholic beverages, which the
house serves. The host will also provide a banquet permit available
through a Washington State liquor store. The Mansion will provide all
non-alcoholic beverages. All glassware is included, as well as bar
condiments and ice. Our Sales staff will gladly assist you in
determining your beverage quantities, as well as offer wine and menu
pairing suggestions.
Payment Policy
The facility use fee to book the house for an event is specified in
your contract. This fee is payable to the Washington Trust for Historic
Preservation and is required to reserve your event date. Tentative dates
may be held for approximately one week without a use fee deposit and
require only a telephone number. After one week, the date will be
released. Sixty (60) days prior to your occasion, the catering minimum
is due. Final payment is due upon confirmation of final count, ten days
(10) days prior to your event. Catering minimums and final payments are
payable to The Stimson-Green Mansion. Prior to the function date, our
Sales Manager must approve all direct billing status for corporate
accounts. All pre-payments, including use fee, are non-refundable.
Parking
There is ample secure, covered parking located directly behind The
Mansion in the Cascade Court Garage. Located next to the house are ten
additional parking spaces. These spaces are typically dedicated to the
host and any guests arriving early or requiring special accommodations.
The parking fee is $150 and includes a parking attendant for the first
two hours of your event.
Audio-Visual Equipment and Electrical Requirements
The Stimson-Green Mansion offers the following complimentary
audio-visual equipment and meeting supplies.
• Television with VCR
• Flipchart with Markers
If additional audio-visual supplies are required and appropriate for
this property, we will assist you in handling these arrangements.
We use a leading full service audio visual company that will meet all
your presentation requirements.
Electrical power capabilities at The Mansion are limited. We are not
wired for direct Internet access and ask that you discuss with us any
special wiring needs or specific Internet-based equipment use.
Music and Entertainment
For your reception, we welcome smaller four-piece bands and acoustic
ensembles as well as DJ services. Due to the intimate nature of our
spaces, we recommend amplification be kept to a minimum. There is a baby
grand piano, which is located in The Library. We also offer you the use
of our CD player. Musicians’ or DJ’s equipment should come through the
front door and be set up prior to the arrival of your quests.
