Saying goodbye with love
If you have just lost
someone close to you, we are extremely sorry for this loss. We
understand how difficult a time this can be and we hope that we can
facilitate you in this deeply personal last rite of passage for your
loved one.
When a life
comes to an end, most of us need to gather to share memories,
applaud their life and rejoice in the fact that they lived.
We hope you choose to do so at Stimson-Green. Time spent at
Stimson-Green can be a time of reflection for those attending
Memorial
services are not just for the deceased but for you and your friends.
When an
incomprehensible tragedy occurs, family and friends feel the immediate
need to come together, to share the pain of this loss. We offer the
Mansion as your home for this to take place. Often times the Mansion is
readily available during the week and can be rented by the hour, with
little or no food served. Light refreshments can be made available.
Please call (206) 624-0474
for availability and rates.
Most times, death comes
suddenly and with little to no warning. Many people feel like they have
to rush right into memorial services. This is not true. The service can
be planned a few weeks after the passing of the loved one. Sharing
food, during this type of bereavement gathering, remains a popular
practice. Guests might expect a light meal such as afternoon tea.
(Please click here for a
sample menu). Waiting a few weeks allows time for out-of-towners to make
travel arrangements and for the family to make the necessary funeral
arrangements.
Some families wait six
months or longer before they memorialize their love one. This gives
them time to pick a location that was special to the person in some way.
A location that will stimulate memories, provide an atmosphere that
isn't awkward or oppressive and allow those attending to feel at home.
This type of memorial is oftentimes referred to as a Life Celebration.
This is the perfect time to have hors doeuvres as guests arrive,
followed by a buffet, and to raise a glass to the Life, Love and Legacy
of the deceased!
The warmth and
inviting setting of the Mansion, makes it a perfect venue for
friends and loved ones to express
their love, respect and grief. Our goal is to offer you and your family peace, tranquility and
dignity.
